Bowen Technique Practitioner

I specialise in the release of pain, stress and tension. I assess body tone, structure and symmetry using this gentle technique to release soft tissue, trapped nerves and joint issues by working over muscle and fascia. Realign the body, bringing the body back into balance physically, mentally and emotionally. I love seeing the healing results this wonderful treatment can bring about. Whether that be from unwellness or physical injury. There are many dis-eases it can help with.
I was originally in a corporate role when I lost my partner in 2010 after wandering around stuck unable to process and move on from the wilderness of loss for a couple of years I came across the Bowen technique. It had such an amazing effect on me I decided to train as a therapist. Travelling to Bournemouth monthly for a year to gain the initial diploma of efficiency qualification in February 2014 with BAUK (Bowen Academy UK). I then spent subsequent years furthering my knowledge and training (CPD). In August 2017 qualified in advanced specialised Bowen procedures with Oswald and Elaine Rentsch founders of the Bowen Academy of Australia (Bowtech). I have also attended the following training:
Graham Penningtons - Importance of symmetry (IOS) and Targeting primary dysfunction (TPD) workshops
Alastair McLoughlin - The Art of Bowen parts 1&2 and MSTR scar tissue release, this is a fabulous stand alone treatment and warrants special mention see pictures.
Ron Phelans - Hormonal balance procedures very helpful for stressed teenagers M/F, menopause, period pain and Temporomandibular joint dysfunction TMJ.
Other workshops and seminars such as Bowen and Meta health, Smart bowen, NLP and meditation. I am also a level 2 Reiki practitioner.
I am grateful for a loving family and 7 grandchildren, love all things holistic and natural and must also mention my adorable house rabbit Rocky. I enjoy keeping fit, walking and several various fitness classes. It's a privilege to be part of the team at Jon Rayners Limpsfield Fitness club. All the trainers and therapists are lovely humans. I believe whatever your needs, whoever you decide to see, we will all do our very best for you.
MSTR is used for any scar no matter how old, to facilitate greater healing particularly from scars still problematic after wound healing has occurred. Scars from any operation but especially mastectomy and emergency cesarean, helps with physical and emotional scarring. It can help with accidental, deliberately inflicted, burns, skin graft even amputation scars. The attached pics are before treatment of very red, angry skin graft, results of an operation to remove deep skin melanoma and after just a few treatments a much happier and more comfortable foot, suppleness and no swelling. Results start to happen usually from 1st treatment.

A Few Testimonials
I went to see Chris as I'd had problems with my knee stability, and some discomfort. It had been going on for months and nothing had helped. After only one treatment I had a dramatic improvement.
I thought my knee problem would come back after a few days or weeks but it's been months now and it's still feeling good. I had another couple of treatments just to make sure.
I have no doubts about recommending Chris.Best regards, Sean.
I had a tightness in my left hip and thigh that was affecting any exercise I wanted to do. I had already been to an osteopath, which worked very well in the past, but on this occasion it was only a temporary fix. I was recommended the Bowen Technique by my son, who had already experienced the treatment, and so booked with Chris. I approached the technique with a slightly sceptical outlook and I finished my treatment, which was only three visits, with a completely different view on the process. In short, a success! Best wishes, Cathy.
I have to admit, at first I was a little sceptical. How wrong could I be? I had been having trouble with my knee for several months. I had had to stop playing badminton due to the pain and had been having difficulty even walking up and down stairs. The knee was stiff and the muscles around it seemed unable to fully support the movement of climbing and particularly, descending steps. I told Chris I was planning to go to the doctors to get a referral for an arthroscopy operation. I had tried this operation before, but it did not seem to make any difference, so I was not too confident that it would work a second time. Rather than go for a repeat operation, I arranged to see Chris to see what the Bowen technique could do for me.
The first session was something of a surprise. I think I was expecting something along the lines of osteopathy, but Bowen couldn’t be more different. The “moves” are gentle, pain-free and are apparently designed to spur the body into healing itself – a bit like acupuncture without the needles! I found the sessions very relaxing and, whether or not it was doing my knee any good, I found the stress of the day flowing out of me like someone had unblocked a sink. After each session I arrived home feeling relaxed and stress-free – almost euphoric.
As I said earlier, I was a bit sceptical that such a gentle, painless process could make any physical difference, but I stuck with it. At first, I noticed little if any improvement, but after four or five weekly sessions, the condition eased and then improved to a point where I was no longer hobbling down the stairs in the mornings, but walking quite normally. Also I was able to return to playing badminton every week without even wearing a knee-brace.
So, with the benefit of my experience, I heartily recommend giving Chris and her Bowen moves a chance to help your body heal itself. - Les
